Description:
Prominent law firm is seeking a litigation paralegal in our Denver office to
assist attorneys in a range of state and federal commercial litigation
matters.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience in a
law firm, including case preparation from beginning to end and an
understanding of a paralegal's role in the litigation life cycle.
Performing a broad range of substantive paralegal tasks, you'll work
directly with attorneys on commercial litigation matters and other complex
business disputes in a variety of industries. Experience in product liability
and premise liability is preferred but not required. You'll maintain and
monitor court deadlines for assigned cases and take ownership of case
calendars; electronically file documents with the Court through the ECF
system under the supervision of an attorney; perform online PACER
research; and prepare drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions.
Other responsibilities will allow you to prepare deposition notices
(organize, maintain and prepare deposition materials, exhibits and
summaries); track and manage discovery, including document
productions; participate in case strategy meetings; and handle routine
calls and correspondence to courts, outside attorneys, experts and clients.
The ideal candidate for this position possesses well-developed critical
thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. You
have a strong sense of accountability, take ownership over projects and
responsibilities, resolve issues proactively, and know how to be a true
team player. You're a technology pro and have no problem learning new
software. You utilize your paralegal expertise and keen eye for detail to
further teamwork, client services, and efficiency.
2 or 4-year degree and a paralegal certificate; however, work experience
may be substituted for education.
Ability to conduct research using various research tools, including the
Internet and Westlaw. Ability to travel for trial when needed. Flexibility to
work overtime as needed to meet business needs.
