In this role you will manage the day-to-day activities of the procurement operations group.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops procurement operations in compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.

  • Manage key metrics and SLAs with a focus on providing the highest quality service.

  • Effectively identify, recommend, and implement scalable process optimization, resource efficiency and automation opportunities in a global environment.

  • Build effective, strategic relationships with business partners across the enterprise.

  • Facilitates change management on projects.

  • Develop and maintain Procurement Operations documentation and policy repository.

  • Build out and maintain Procure-to-Pay Operations global content pages (help center).

  • Develop, champions, advocates, and ensures compliance with Western Union’s Global Buying Policy utilizing source-to-pay processes and tools, including ensuring compliance with internal and external auditing requirements.

  • Promotes and proliferates appropriate utilization of buying channels and procurement tools (virtual cards, punchouts, requisitions, purchase orders, etc.).

  • Prepare bid awards requiring board approval.

  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids.

  • Administer online purchasing systems.

  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.

  • Interview and hire staff and oversee staff training.

  • Develop cost reduction strategies and savings plans.

  • Act as point of escalation for Procurement Operations team and business process owners to ensure timely remediation of issues.

  • Lead and manage implementation of internal control procedures (SOX).

  • Participate in special projects, analysis and ad-hoc tasks as required by management.

  • Performs supervisory responsibilities inherent in a managerial role.

Role Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in related field required, 5-7+ years’ experience, or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience required.

  • High proficiency and experience with Procurement, and Requisitioning systems.

  • Understanding of Source-to-Pay processes and best practices.

  • Prior experience in a high-growth environment; ideally, a public/private industry mix.

  • Possess excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and prioritization skills.

  • Experience designing and implementing new policies and procedures with proven ability to drive process and system improvements in a global environment.

  • Technically savvy and capable of learning new technologies.

  • Advanced Excel experience.

  • Executive level power point experience.

  • Strong in metric and reporting development, analysis, and presentation.

  • Data driven individual with a growth mindset.

  • Experience in process improvement / redesign.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Positive attitude and open mindset, not afraid to roll up your sleeves.

  • Able to work under time pressure, prioritize a high workload, and meet strict deadlines.

  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.

  • Self-starter and able to work independently as well as collaborate with partner teams.

  • Team player, strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, dependability.

Salary

The on-target earnings range is $99,705- 130,250 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term and long-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
