Position Summary
The University of Denver is seeking a dedicated and skilled Athletic Trainer
to work closely with the DU Club Rugby teams, the coaches and medical
experts. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with both men's
and women's teams, contributing to their overall health, safety, and
performance. The Athletic Trainer will primarily work during weekday evening
club rugby practices and will accompany the teams to home matches and travel
events on the weekends. This position is an average of 10-15 hours per week.
This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
Essential Functions
Maintain current certification and continuing education requirements set by
the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification.
Attend weekly club rugby practices and provide immediate first aid, injury
assessment and treatment to athletes
Collaborate with coaches and athletes to develop injury prevention strategies
and promote overall wellness
Attend home games and travel with teams as needed, ensuring prompt and
effective injury care and response
Communicate and coordinate with team coaches, medical staff, and
administration to maintain the highest standards of player care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation for all
club athletes
Complete and submit all necessary accident reports required by club sports and
the university
Educate athletes about injury prevention, proper warm-ups, cool-downs,
and recovery techniques
Assist in the management of medical s upplies, equipment, and first aid kits
Stay current with developments in sports medicine, treatment techniques,
and relevant regulations
Adhere to all applicable club sport, conference, and university rules and
regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong clinical skills in injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with
athletes, coaches, and medical professionals
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as
required by the team's schedule
Previous experience working with rugby or other contact sports is a plus
Knowledge of USA rugby rules and regulations related to sports medicine
(preferred)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training
ATC Credential, certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) for
Athletic Trainers
Meet ongoing continuing education requirements
State licensure as an Athletic Trainer (if applicable)
Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Athletic Training
Work Schedule
Part-Time. The Athletic Trainer will primarily work during weekday evening
club rugby practices and will accompany the teams to home matches and travel
events on the weekends. This position works an average of 10-15 hours per
week.

Hourly Range
The hourly pay ranges from $25.00-$40.00, commensurate with
qualifications and experience.

posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will
be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected
candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity
