Company DescriptionJob Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Plant Manager leads a team of people to excellence by directing and coordinating activities of the production, warehouse and yard. The position leads all production activities to achieve high levels of performance in key performance fundamentals, including Safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping, preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance, and engagement of employees. Operating in an environment of continuous improvement and employee engagement Commitment to be an unrelenting advocate for safe work practices and function as a leader of safety in the organization Safe behavior is a condition of employment at ESW Plan production operations and establish priorities and sequences for efficient manufacturing of products to specification Prepare and analyze production data to identify operational, manufacturing and maintenance issues and to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization, minimizing unplanned downtimes Implement an effective preventative maintenance program that reduces downtime and improves equipment life at an acceptable cost Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations Take measures to improve inventory methods, employee performance and equipment maintenance and repair Manage direct delivery activities (including inter-company transfers) to achieve optimum utilization of resources (labor, trucks, product) Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product Develop and implement cross-training procedures Maintain time and production records Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments Engage with the BU Process Engineering Team, elevating the performance of the entire enterpriseQualifications COMPETENCIES: Safety and Compliance Accountability Sets Expectations and Goal Setting Ownership of Work for self and others Evaluates and selects talent Aligns self and others Ability to build and instill trust with others Managing conflict EXPECTED RESULTS: Ensures compliance with all Safety initiatives and requirements Meets or exceeds Sales and Margin goals Ensures compliance with Company NNN's and Standard Work Develops, coaches and drives employee engagement and development of staff Aligns self and others with Company, Region and Area short- and long-term goals EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (technical or construction management major) Requires three to five or more years of experience leading the operations in a plant in a building products environment or other discrete manufacturing environment at the supervisory or management level Lean Six Sigma certification or related certification desired Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Experience with Advanced Planning Systems/ERP a plus Experience in batch process manufacturing and/or concrete products manufacturing a plus Ability to communicate in Spanish also a plus OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with management, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the Company Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing Experience in Turnaround situation Ability to utilize appropriate interpersonal styles and methods of communication to gain agreement or acceptance of an idea, plan, activity, product or service from customers Ability to deliver a consistent, accurate and up to date description of the services and products offered by the Company, while setting realistic expectations of the Company's ability to deliver these products and/or services Excellent time management, decision making, human relations, presentation and organization skills Goal oriented, data and results driven Accuracy, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environmen Experience leading operations in support of outlying locations and field offices preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, construction blueprints or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
