Job Summary
In collaboration with the Trauma Program leadership, is responsible for the
coordination and facilitation of the Trauma Performance Improvement Program,
which encompasses all areas and disciplines of the hospital that participates
in the care of admitted injured patients. Provides coordination and
facilitation of performance improvement data collection, analysis, and
trending and benchmarking of data and outcomes. Collaborates closely with
Trauma Program leadership to assure compliance with American College of
Surgeons (ACS) and State of Colorado (CDPHE) Trauma standards and
guidelines. Is responsible for documentation of Trauma Performance
Improvement Program loop closure. Works closely with Trauma Nurse
Coordinators, Clinical Director of Trauma, and the Trauma Medical Director.
Essential Functions:
Evaluates the effectiveness of care, policies and procedures in
collaboration with the Clinical Director of Trauma, Trauma Medical Director
and Trauma Nurse Coordinators and others. (10%)
Develops and assists others in developing action plans and ensures follow
through and documentation of plans and loop closure. (10%)
Assists in strategic Planning as an active member of the Trauma Program. (10%)
Facilitates identification and documentation of hospital based, state of
Colorado (CDPHE) and American College of Surgeons (ACS) performance
improvement variances and complications. (20%)
Concurrently reviews cases to identify quality, timeliness and system issues
in the care of the trauma patient, in order to meet facility needs, CDPHE
and ACS standards. (20%)
Acquires an maintains current knowledge in the care of the trauma patient.

Regularly attends morning report, handoff, and other meetings as
appropriate. (10%)
Assists in the preparation and regularly attends Trauma Council and Trauma
Physician Performance Improvement committee. (10%)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Work Experience:
4-6 years 4 years of in hospital experience with critical care experience
Required
Licenses:
RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
TNCC-Trauma Nurse Core Course - STN - Society of Trauma Nurses Required or
ATCN-Advanced Trauma Care of Nurses - STN - Society of Trauma Nurses
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates strong analytical skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to define problems collects and summarizes data, establish facts and
draw conclusions.
Microsoft Office Suite required.
