Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated civil engineer for the opportunity to support civil infrastructure and mine waste storage projects as part of the Water Business Lines Mining Division in Denver, CO. The position will involve working under the guidance of a Senior Civil Engineer on a variety of our clients open and closed mine sites performing the 3D modeling earthwork grading, designs/layouts to support the required infrastructure of new waste storage, expansions to existing or closed facilities.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Site grading, simple surface modeling, performing earthwork analysis and designs using Autodesk Civil 3D through release 2022.

  • Creating horizontal and vertical alignments for roadways, pipelines and drainage facilities in Autodesk Civil 3D.

  • Civil/Site- Site development, access and haul roads, borrow areas, drainage channels, and surface drainage.

  • Prepare calculation packages for earthwork quantities, storage capacity, and material take-offs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Must possess a valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Heavy site grading and earthwork 3D modeling using AutoCAD Civil3D

  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills

  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment

  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility

  • Resourceful, highly organized, and detail oriented

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Effective time-management and interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Microsoft Excel

  • Google Earth

  • AutoCAD Civil3D (2022 and later)

Additional Information

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

  • Sponsorship may be available for this role (current US Visa holders)

  • Regular project site travel required as needed.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $90,000.00.
