This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of
the Drug and Alcohol policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL:
Responsible for maintaining the District's gas diesel, alternative
fuels, and small engine fleet. This includes but is not limited to
heating, air conditioning, electrical, engines, transmissions,
steering and hydraulic systems.
Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair or replacement of any and all
components as referenced above.
Performs preventative maintenance and inspections based on established
schedules.
Performs annual DOT inspections.
Responsible for operation of wrecker and service truck as required.
Accurate completion of all repair orders, logs, warranty tags, part
slips and other records as required, Including identification and
requisition of parts from storeroom vendors.
Must be able to exert physical effort while standing, walking and lifting
material, tools and objects with ability to be mobile 100% of work time.
Safe operation and proper care of shop tools and equipment
OTHER:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair all aspects of
diesel, gas and alternative fuels systems including small engines.
Basic knowledge of body repair techniques including glass, interior and
minor painting.
Must be able to read schematics and technical manuals.
Must be able to obtain forklift certification and a valid Colorado Commercial
Driver's license (CDL) with class A-P2 endorsement within the qualifying
or probationary period as outlined in the labor agreement.
Must be able to obtain tow truck certification within ninety (90) days of
obtaining their CDL Class A-P2 License.
Must possess a valid driver's license continually for the past 2 years. No
DUI, DWI, or reckless driving in the past 5 years
Must become ASE certified within three(3) years of transfer date or be
returned as outlined in the current labor agreement.
Ability to work safely and follow rules and regulations.
Must pass a mechanical aptitude test .

apply to them and their work environment and are required to stay current with
such rules and regulations
Basic knowledge of safety rules and regulations as they pertain to the
position
