HDR currently has an opening for an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our
team in Denver, CO. The primary duties of the position include
To provide engineering, design, and project technical production services.
Support Project Engineers and Project Managers in development of
transportation/traffic studies such as traffic operations analyses,
traffic impact analyses, micro-simulation modeling, and traffic signal
timing plans.
Primary duties include working as part of a traffic team on a variety of
transportation, analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation
projects.
Operational traffic analysis may include using a variety of modeling tools
ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro-simulation models in
order analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban
arterials and freeway segments.
Develops solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of
innovation and ingenuity
Maintains effective communication with project team members and with clients
Perform other duties as needed

The primary requirements of the position include
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree.
EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will
have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT
for career progression
1 year traffic analysis, traffic engineering/design, or travel demand
modeling preferred. Entry level will be considered
Experience with traffic analysis tools and micro- and/or mesoscopic models
such as Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA,
VISSIM, and TransModeler
Strong technical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
Strong verbal and written skills
An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned
