DEA is currently seeking a Traveling Survey Party Chief. This position will
be leading a field survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA,
right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients.
Responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of survey equipment,
taking field notes, data collection, performing field calculations,
working with DEA staff, and interfacing with clients. Direct and lead the
field survey crew members in the performance of their duties, mentor, and
coach them to advance within the survey profession as their individual
abilitie
Position Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Must have knowledge of professional surveying practices and procedures;
state and federal laws affecting land surveying and boundaries
Must be proficient with the operation and maintenance of Leica GPS, total
stations, electronic levels & data collectors, Trimble GPS, total
station, and data collectors, and other various measuring instruments
Must be proficient with electronic data collection systems and processes;
must be able to download and process data files, and perform complex survey
computations using various software programs (i.e., Trimble Business
Center, Leica Geomatics Office, Star*net, AutoCAD/Civil3D, MicroStation)
Thoroughly inspects and checks deliverables for accuracy and correctness;
Deliverables include field note sheets, electronic data collection files,
computation sheets
Provides coordination and serves as Lead for field survey crew personnel
Heavy travel is required for this role
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of field experience in boundary and construction surveying
High School diploma or equivalent required
Must be able to travel out of town approximately 75% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
L.S.I.T.
Working knowledge of Leica Survey equipment
Working knowledge of Trimble Survey equipment
Static scanning experience

Potential hourly rate for this position is $25-$40/hr. depending on experience
