As Product Manager, Upstream Marketing, you will be responsible for Hologic’s GYN Surgical Division future pipeline by helping to create innovative and world-class medical devices which fulfill customers’ needs in our hysteroscopic, laparoscopic and pelvic health segments. Leveraging customer insights, you will identify key unmet needs to create business cases, drive the strategic development and execution of our products through internal and external innovation. The position requires a confident leader able be able to create insight-driven strategies, be execution oriented, and work effectively with others. You will be the marketing representative on the product development teams from the concept phase through commercialization. Strong collaboration across the global regions and with functional departments such as R&D, clinical, regulatory, quality, sales, operations & downstream marketing marketing will be necessary for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop business cases for new markets and concept which include strategic fit, market sizing & financial modeling, high level unmet needs definition, competitive landscape, commercial implications, and go or no-go recommendations.

  • Serve as the marketing core team member for new product development from concept through to commercialization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to meet milestones and ensure timely product launches with a high level of quality.

  • Conduct market research to quantify the size of the addressable market.

  • Collect Voice of Customer (VOC) associated with identifying product needs and features.

  • Collaborate with research and development to establish unmet needs, translate to design specifications, and assist in validation activities.

  • Understand competitive landscape, integrate business needs into the product and ensure desired claims are in marketing plan.

  • Work with finance and global regions to develop financial forecast models.

  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans including value proposition, messaging, key claims, customer segmentation and targeting, pricing strategy and evidence-based strategy.

  • Closely communicate with regional partners throughout new product development process to capture primary market needs and smoothly transition management of products to downstream in preparation for launch.

  • Assist with business development commercial assessments including input into the forecasts and deal models.

  • Build physician network to obtain VoC for projects and business opportunities.

  • Build strong relationships with downstream product marketing, KOLs, medical advisory board members and relevant societies.

  • Design and execute (internally or with third party) qualitative and/or quantitative market research with customers and other key stakeholders.

  • Act as a change agent within the organization and bring best practices to the cross-functional teams.

  • Steward business and complete deliverables in the annual strategic planning process.

  • Familiar with global medical devices and FDA, CE regulatory submission requirements

  • Ability to develop clinical expertise in assigned surgical field – deep understanding of customer needs, clinical application of products and technology, anatomy and trends in assigned space

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (able to make clear, impactful PPT slides)

  • Proven strong interpersonal skills

  • Computer skills to include Power Point, Excel and Outlook

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Medicine, or related field required. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years of upstream marketing and new product development experience required; medical device healthcare market experience preferred

  • Demonstrated excellence in Healthcare Professional and customer interfacing role

Additional Details

  • 30% travel required

The total compensation range for this role is 99,600-165,900. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, territory/ geography, education, business needs, market demand and performance versus quota
