Job description

Direct Wire & Cable is currently hiring a skilled Machine Operator to join our team! As a valued member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in our operations at the manufacturing facility, where you'll be operating our Multiwire machinery.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, monitor, and operate equipment associated with wire drawing machines.
• Load stems of 12-gauge wire and thread it through the accumulator, draw box, annealer, and around take-up reels.
• Efficiently load and unload reels on dual take-up machines.
• Monitor and maintain drawing solution levels and die sets.
• Regularly inspect and maintain annealing contact bands.
• Collaborate with maintenance for Preventative Maintenance programs as needed.
• Adjust controls to regulate the speed of wire travel and the extrusion die, ensuring a sheath of uniform thickness based on the material being extruded.
• Skillfully operate a machine equipped with a wrapping device to securely wrap paper or tape around the wire before sheathing.
• Log wire breaks and production data meticulously into specified collection documents.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read and interpret routine instructions
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to interact at all levels of the organization
