Role: Fleet Performance and Field Service Delivery Director

Salary: £Competitive

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?

The Fleet Performance and Field Service Delivery Director is accountable for the safe and efficient delivery and performance of all Wabtec UK Powertrain Contracts and all product line service support at customer depots across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Maximise return on investment via opportunities with our UK customer base across supported Product Lines.

  • Responsible for long term development/delivery of performance based service contracts

  • Providing value for money field service support to Wabtec’s sister companies during OE warranty phase and also service and warranty support for Wabtec’s UK Vehicle and Rail Systems product lines.

  • Oversee the daily operation of the Transit Performance Optimisation Centre with regular contact with Rolling Stock Companies (RosCo)/Train Operating companies (TOC).

  • Work closely with the UK Engineering Director to ensure a pipeline of corrective and proactive performance improvement initiatives are delivered to support contract margin improvement plans and train reliability growth.

  • Responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and evolution of performance management frameworks.

  • Be a safety leader, leading the department improvement team to develop a safety policy and proactive health and safety culture.

  • Determine and communicate long term operational capacity for planning.

  • Ensure operational plans are developed, implemented, and meet customer schedules.

  • Consistently meet and maintain on-time delivery targets ensuring a high standard of customer delivery.

  • Constantly review progress against schedules to provide early and good communications to the customers both internal and external.

  • Enhance warranty and after sales support of business products and services across the product line.

  • Lead development strategies for enhancing product and contract performance across the portfolio of Wabtec products in the region.

What do we want to know about you?

  • HND or degree qualified in Engineering or related discipline or alternatively qualified through extensive practical/operational experience.

  • Industry recognised project management qualification.

  • Experience in providing a customer focused service engineering delivery in a safety and service critical operational environment.

  • Proven experience of performance tracking and improvement management across contracts and products.

  • Sound understanding of Health and Safety legislation and experience in leading safety improvement initiatives.

  • Extensive Project Management experience.

  • Commercial/legal awareness
