An Inventory Counter is responsible for the counting of production material across all product lines. This includes the support of the Cycle / Test count programs, incoming/outgoing counts and discrepancy counts.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Physical counting of material across the site and the adjustment of inventory by location as required.

  • Documenting / audit correction as required within the system (Glovia) in line with Corporate and Sarbanes Oxley audit requirements.

  • Conducting a first stage inventory reconciliation which includes the following root cause analysis:

  • Investigating transaction history, Checking receiving and last receipts, Liaise with PD/Engineering, Checking the bill of material to ensure that material is dispersing correctly.

  • Support the departments’ goals to reach the plan by year end.

  • Location / stores audits and receipt counting as required.

  • Adhere to the company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices.

  • Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork & Sustainability.

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • An excellent level of literacy and numeracy skills (you will be required to pass a maths test)

  • Self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of the operation and logistic functions.

  • Knowledge of the Glovia systems and Logistic transactions.

  • Be able to communicate and liaise with all levels of the organisation and work within a team environment.

  • Computer literate on Microsoft office.

  • Possess a knowledgeable Material Control processes and systems.

Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • Ability to read Engineering Drawings

  • Glovia systems

Job Title: Inventory Counter

Contract: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Salary: £26,750 rising to £28,100 once competent

Benefits: 27 days annual leave + bank holidays, Factory Bonus, Share Scheme (50% Company Matched), Contributory Pension Scheme (Contribution double by Company up to 10%), Free Car Parking

Location: Desford, Leicestershire

Hours: Full Time – 37.50

Travel: 1-2 days travel to Stockton per month may be required

Relocation/Sponsorship: Not supported with this role.
