Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Entry Level Accountant role within the health insurance industry based in Detroit, Michigan. The successful candidate will be primarily focused on accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Handle and process accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare and maintain journal entries
• Carry out account reconciliations efficiently
• Display knowledge of debits and credits, as well as liabilities and assets
• Manage customer credit applications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain up-to-date customer credit records
• Resolve customer credit inquiries promptly and professionally
• Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary actions to collect delinquent payments
• Utilize skills in 'Accounts Payable (AP)', 'Accounts Receivable (AR)', 'Account Reconciliation', 'Bank Account Reconciliation', and 'Journal Entries'. Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) processing
• Skilled in Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks
• Demonstrable ability in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Bank Account Reconciliation
• Able to accurately prepare and maintain Journal Entries
• Understanding of Debits and their application in accounting
• Basic knowledge of health insurance industry is preferred
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High ethical standards and professionalism, with confidentiality as a key element
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
