Job Overview:

Manage and oversees high-value and complex subcontracting activities. Manage risks and optimize vendor relationship at a strategic level.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the entire lifecycle of subcontracts, from negotiations to execution and closure

  • Managing subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions

  • Handling changes, claims, disputes, and resolving any issues that arise during the execution

  • Leading negotiations with subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditions

  • Drafting reviewing and finalizing subcontracts agreements in line with McDermott objectives and regulatory requirements

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key subcontractors

  • Collaborating with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations

  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with subcontracting activities

  • Ensuring that subcontractors adhere to compliance requirements, including legal, financial and safety standards.

  • Monitoring and controlling subcontract costs to ensure that the work is completed within the budget

  • Preparing and presenting reports of subcontractor performance, cost, and compliance to the Senior Management

  • Ensuring that all subcontracting activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies

  • Maintain thorough documentation and records for audit purposes

  • Providing guidance to junior subcontracts specialist

  • Leading cross-functional teams in subcontract- related projects and initiatives

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements in subcontract management

  • Implement best practice to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in subcontracting activities

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • 10+ years’ experience in large and complex subcontracting activities

  • Extended experience in handling claims and disputes

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Engineering

  • Strong negotiations skills, attention to details, and ability to manage complex subcontracts and relationships
