Janus International Group, LLC Cost Accountant - Janus in Douglasville, Georgia

Support the analysis and development of the financial information required to successfully support the company-s endeavors. The analyst will work with people at all levels of the organization (senior management, functional leadership and staff) to report, monitor and manage key financial and non-financial performance indicators with special tasks for cost accounting, inventory and gross margin reporting.

  • Prepare journal entries related to manufacturing (e.g. inventory entries)

  • Develop analysis of production and inventory costs

  • Coordinate inventory valuation and counts with Purchasing and Manufacturing Departments

  • Perform detailed review of all BOM on a continual basis to ensure accurate costing of finished goods

  • Lead both raw material and finished goods revaluations, as necessary

  • Maintain the excess and obsolete inventory analysis

  • Review, maintain, and update direct labor and overhead standards on a quarterly basis

  • Perform variance analysis against budget and prior periods

  • Perform trend analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly consolidation and executive financial packages

  • Assist with annual audit

  • Create financial reporting on an as needed basis (e.g. ad hoc reporting)

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts as needed

  • Maintain budget and forecast in the reporting and MRP systems

  • Develop, maintain and distribute as-hoc reports and financial models as needed

  • Continually review business processes to institute corrective actions and improvements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required

  • Minimum of 3 years- experience in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on cost accounting, inventory

  • Accounting/GAAP knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)

  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately critical

  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
