Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Associate Director - Utilities to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee our energy team within the utilities department, driving technical excellence and business growth while managing complex projects in the region.
Lead and manage the energy team, coordinating activities of engineers and technicians across power infrastructure, instrumentation, control, and extra low voltage design projects
Develop and implement strategic plans for the utilities department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market demands
Oversee technical delivery management, including resolving complex engineering issues and conducting peer reviews
Drive digital transformation initiatives within the discipline, embracing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies
Manage large-scale and complex utility projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards
Spearhead business development efforts, including preparing major bids and proposals
Collaborate with senior leadership to implement business change management initiatives
Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with UAE utility regulations and standards while promoting sustainable energy solutions
Represent the company as a technical expert in industry forums and client meetings
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) certification
Minimum 17 years of experience, including 10 years in large international engineering consultancy and 5 years in a technical leadership role
Extensive knowledge of power infrastructure networks (HV/MV/LV), controls and instrumentation, and extra low voltage systems
Proven expertise in land development projects, master planning, and detailed design
Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering large-scale utility projects
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing teams
Excellent understanding of risk and value management principles
Advanced skills in technical quality reviews, report writing, and presentations
Proficiency in business development and client relationship management
In-depth knowledge of UAE utility regulations and standards
Experience with sustainable energy solutions and smart grid technologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
