The Opportunity

This position is based in UAE, Dubai. As Abbott, we help people live healthier and better lives through our Established Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostics, Nutrition, and Medical Devices business for more than years. We have approximately 300 employees working across Africa.

As the Senior Accountant, you will perform a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.

What You’ll Do:

Data Entry:

  • General Ledger Accounting

  • Support Month end / Year end close activities.

  • Balance Sheet Analysis

  • Fixed Assets Accounting

  • Corporate Card Administration

  • VAT / CIT compilation and filing of returns.

  • Maintenance of Accounting Records.

Working knowledge of Core Business Processes:

  • Books and Records.

  • General Ledger.

  • Property Accounting (Fixed Assets).

  • Accounts Payable & Payments.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is the minimum requirement.

  • Computer literate

  • Proficiency in English language

  • Demonstrated good working knowledge of based accounting system applications. (i.e. BPCS, FM, XMS) and working knowledge of SAP (S4HANA)

  • Proficient in the usage of PC based applications. (i.e. MS Office, Lotus Notes, etc.).

  • Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, General Ledger.

  • Enter financial data in a timely fashion & accurately.

  • Approaches work in a meticulous, thorough, and detailed manner.

  • Working as an accountant / financial analyst – preferably in a large organization / multinational.

  • Ability to follow company prescribed Policies and Procedures and inspire others.

  • Thrives under pressure.

  • Productivity > Output is exceptionally high. Uses time wisely.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
