Eurofins IT Solutions Program Director - Application Lifecycle Management & Application Monitoring Platform in Dublin, Ireland

In a nutshell

In this role you will lead two Global IT Programs, one for Application Lifecycle Management and one for Application Monitoring & Observability Platform.

As an IT Solutions Director, you will be leading two critical Programs (serving more than 1,500 customers) by providing IT Tools and Standards for our in-house Product Development & Product Delivery teams across Eurofins (Ireland and other global locations).

In your role as Program Manager for the Application Lifecycle Management you will provide the inhouse IT Product Development teams with the best tools to develop software for our laboratories and for our customers. These tools, which you will provide and manage are:

  • Our repositories for requirements, code, test cases etc.

  • Our tool for static code analysis.

  • Our tools for continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).

In your second as Program Manager for the Application Monitoring & Observability Platform you will manage our “eyes and ears” to monitor the health and performance of our global Applications running to service our customers worldwide. This include log analytics platform, observability platform, alerting and all kinds of monitoring for Applications.

On top you will define together with our Architecture Office the global standards for our internal IT Product Development concerning coding standards, best practices on requirements elicitation and management etc.

Where will you be based and what business will you support?

Based in Dublin, you will lead our Application Development Lifecycle Management, and Application Monitoring and Observability Programs. 

How can you help us? 

As an IT Solutions Director you will:

  • Lead two global IT programs with responsibility for all program management aspects including budget and controlling, people and performance management, IT strategy and planning;

  • Collaborate closely with other IT programs and teams, to implement new projects, IT initiatives and drive continuous improvement of the IT organisation;

  • Prepare global decisions on the roadmap of our IT Tools for Application Development, Monitoring, Observability etc; 

  • Be responsible for local talent strategies and employee engagement, promotion of employee focused initiatives and leading company events; 

  • Be responsible for budget preparation, forecasting, resource planning and cost controlling for IT programs; 

  • Manage third party vendors, contracts and licenses for group solutions;

  • Be accountable as a Business Unit (BU) Manager, including resources, cost management and reporting; 

  • Be responsible for annual review process and general performance management of employees in program/BU scope.

  • Be responsible for ensuring the adoption of and adherence to local and Global policies.

  • Act as an escalation point for HR issues and queries.

  • Support and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of Employees within GSC Dublin.

Are you our kind of extraordinary?

You have:

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similarly related field; 

  • 10+ years’ experience in IT or related fields, with 5+ years in a senior management or leadership role; 

  • Experience with budget preparation, forecasting and P&L management; 

  • Working experience with Application Lifecycle Management Tools, like Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise, JFrog Artifactory; 

  • Working experience with monitoring & observability tools like ELK stack (Elasticsarch, Logtash, Kibana), AppDynamics, Grafana or similar;

  • Strong IT management experience, ideally from a large IT organisation serving internal business customers; 

  • Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills;

  • Experience managing large multi-discipline teams across multiple remote locations;

  • Background in or strong working knowledge of software development processes, tools and methodologies; 

  • Working knowledge of custom application development, cloud technologies and automation.

What else should I know? 

The following skills are an advantage:

  • Software engineering or development experience in previous roles;

  • Experience working in life sciences or Pharma industries;

  • Experience in overseeing HR processes and being a voice of reason when called upon.
