The Terminal Maintenance Manager job entails the management of overall operation of company garages as well as light and heavy fleet of vehicles. Supervises Mechanics and Shop Hands.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- * *Plan and direct the operations of the company garage
- Develop and maintain efficient shop performance standards, procedures and policies.
- Maintain adherence to company operations and safety policies
- Create and assure accuracy of parts inventories
- Develop and maintain department budget tocontrol maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory controland outsourcing of repairs
- Direct repair, service and maintenance of company vehicles
- Develop and supervise vehicle preventive maintenance schemes
- REview periodic repair procedures to ensure completeness, accuracy and efficiency
- Recommend vehicles meant for replacement and arrange for necessary disposal or auctino
- Interview, train and discipline subordinate staff members
- Assess training for staff and personnel
- Direct supervisory staff inplanningof automotive repair and maintenance jobs
- Investigate vehicle accidents with the Company's Safety representatives, negotiate for any possible settlements and authorze any repairs or maintenance of company vehicles
- Create and implement performance procedures and policies
- Make assessments of training needs
- Prepare vehicle specifications meant for purchase
- Operate and utilize computerized tracking systems
- Analyze full operating costs
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- CLASS A CDL
- ABILITY TO PASS A DOT PHYSICAL AND DRUG SCREENING
- THREE YEARS OF RELATED EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE IN A MAINTENANCE FACILITY SUPPORTING CLASS 8 COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
ROUTINE LIFTING TO 50 POUNDS, REGULAR HANDLING, GRASPING, KNEELING AND CARRYING, AND CONSTANT USE OF VISION AND MENTAL ALERTNESS IS REQUIRED.
