POSITION:
Senior Streets Operator
WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE:
The Streets Division is hiring a Senior Streets Operator to join their team in
maintaining 83 miles of roadway.
The Senior Streets Operator is a lead worker who has the technical ability to
operate light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment ranging from
weed cutters to cement mixers, forklifts to boom trucks, snowplows, skid
loaders, street sweepers, and more. In this role, you will be
responsible for performing maintenance activities involving landscaping and
street repair, including loading, hauling, scraping, sweeping,
mowing, and related operations. Additionally, you will assign tasks and
train coworkers in safe and effective work methods. Your expertise will be

and their impact on our workers' lives, we provide Senior Streets
Operators with a supplemental $3.00/hour added to their pay rates. This
position is also eligible for a $500/month snowplow bonus between November
1st and April 31st each year per Public Works' Incentive and Retention
Policy & Snowplow Bonus Program policy.
DUTIES:
Operate light to heavy construction and maintenance equipment.
Participate in landscaping and street repair maintenance activities.
Maintain production logs and records.
Identify, pick up, and deliver equipment from construction sites for each
assigned project.
Install street barricades and cones prior to performance of street repair
activities; direct and control traffic around work sites; and clean storm
drains.
Remove ice and snow from roadways and parks as directed.
Construct forms, lay cement and finish cement on curb, gutter,
sidewalk, street, alley and other related areas; dig ditches; backfill
trenches and holes; install storm drainpipes.
Assign work and instruct coworkers in work methods.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED.
Three years of experience performing maintenance and construction work.
Ability to maintain a valid CDL license during employment.
Skill in operating and maintaining all assigned vehicles and light to heavy
power-driven equipment.
Knowledge of traffic and ordinance laws.
Commitment to following standard safety practices.
Basic knowledge of irrigation system operation.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of
lifting/moving or force and occasional lift, move or drag 75 pounds or
more while performing essential functions of the job.
Work regularly requires the ability to stand, walk, sit; use hands to
finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop,
kneel crouch or crawl; and speak and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and
peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
Acceptable verbal and conversation skills to effectively communicate with
others in English.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety
rules, material safety data sheets, operation and maintenance
instructions, procedure manuals, and so forth.
Ability to recognize occupational hazards in work activities and take safety
precautions.
Maintain mental capacity which allows the capability of making sound decisions
and following directions.
WAGES:
$22.54 - $28.15 Hourly.
SHIFTS:
Monday through Friday 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
