Job Summary: Responsible for providing support in order to enhance the effectiveness of the department.
Internships are only open to Choctaw Nation tribal members currently enrolled in college.
Our Summer Intern Program is an 8-week temporary, paid program that runs from June 3, 2024 to July 27, 2024. This position pays $15 per hour. Housing is available.
Primary Tasks:
Help organize and review legal documents.
Accompany SEO/Executive Director to tribal functions.
Work on various legal, environmental, risk management, governmental, land and public safety projects. Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Active law student.
Choctaw CDIB or Choctaw member status.
Must be currently attending an accredited college, university, or postsecondary educational institution.
Must have completed the first year of law school.
Must be available to work 40 hour per week eight consecutive weeks.
Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5; 3.0 GPA or greater preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written on a technical level.
Ability to lift 20lb or more
Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently or in a group and manage priorities.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
