Who will you be working with?

The National Director of Reman Services is responsible for the operational performance and profitability of Wabtec’s Mining Products Reman service business, serving key OEM partners and end users in the mining industry. This role is the senior-most role in Wabtec’s mining business in Australia and leads a team of approximately 35 team members across 3 sites in Australia.

How will you make a difference?

This role requires a person who is comfortable leading with integrity, driving attainment of key performance indicators, and developing effective customer relationships. The high-performing team has the mission of delivering premium, OEM-quality repair and Reman services for Wabtec’s proprietary electric wheel motors, alternators, blower motors, and control electronics used on the industry’s leading mining trucks.

Where is the position located?

The position can be based at any of our sites in – Eagle Farm, QLD, Wacol, QLD or Welshpool, WA. Typical year will see the successful candidate travelling around 25% domestically with some international trips.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Responsible for leading the team through weekly one-on-ones with direct reports, providing regular performance feedback to team members, and coaching employees and contingent workforce for development of the individual and the team.

  • Responsible for managing key customer relationships through regular meetings to effectively align business performance with customer needs and expectations to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Responsible for driving P&L budget attainment through management of revenue, variable cost, SG&A and other expenses to achieve target EBIT.

  • Responsible for ensuring achievement of key performance indicators, including but not limited to SQDC – Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

  • Responsible for driving monthly SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) cycle to ensure effective cross-functional communication and consistent performance of all segments of the business.

  • Responsible for developing and executing effective national commercial strategy in alignment with global aftermarket goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for providing monthly & quarterly performance reports and forecast updates.

  • Responsible for championing continuous improvement efforts across the business.

  • Responsible for facilitating technical reviews and engineering collaboration with design engineering resources as they relate to repair and reman work.

  • Responsible for participating in Annual Budgeting Process and Annual STRAP (Strategic Action Planning) process.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Ability to influence, negotiate and lead in a matrix organization.

  • Completed Six Sigma/Quality training.

  • Strong engineering and business acumen, operations, program and process management experience.

  • Degree in engineering, business administration, operations management or related discipline.

  • 8+ years’ experience with at least 5 in repair and re-manufacturing sales and operations of highly engineered industrial products or equivalent.

  • 5+ years’ of experience in leadership roles including building, growing, and leading teams of direct, skilled workers and indirect professional staff.

  • 5+ years’ of experience leading customer success functions and customer interactions.
