Assembly and Test Supervisor

We are looking for an Assembly and Test Supervisor to join our Target Rock team!

As our Assembly and Test Supervisor you will, be responsible for effectively planning, directing, and coordinating production activities of Assembly and Testing Department. You will supervise and manage technical personnel in the assembly functions of company’s products. Testing requirements and equipment utilization, tests systems and development of new product tooling with other department and/or functions. You will work from prepared and released engineering released bills of materials, drawings, procedures, and specifications to initiate and plan both workload and human resources needs to support scheduled production. You will also maintain a continuous check on departmental activities regarding production, efficiency, schedules, and budget. In addition, you will consult and/or discusses production, assembly and tests plans with applicable personnel (Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Contracts), and production bottlenecks and generates periodic status reports to keep program managers and senior managers informed. You will periodically review status of programs and initiates/participates in productions kick-off meetings to discuss production/test plans.

Location: East Farmingdale, NY

Salary/hourly rate: $71,300 to $102,899

Your Challenge

  • Supervise and train department personnel to assume verbatim compliance with written work instructions and procedures.

  • Hands on involvement with Assembly and Test Personnel in all phases of Assembly and Test activities to meet monthly delivery schedules with extended hours and weekend support as necessary.

  • Coordinate and schedule Assembly and Test kick-off meetings with respective departments.

  • Perform visual, dimensional and alloy identity inspections of randomly selected parts for compliance to project requirements.

  • Review existing tooling, gauging and fixtures and make improvements, as necessary, to afford increased department efficiency.

  • Maintain Assembly and Test equipment and facilities through the procurement of materials and hardware.

  • Follow through on hardware and software issues requiring services of other departments (i.e. Welding, Hot Testing, Non-Destructive Testing, and Model Shop) to afford timely completion.

  • Interact with Engineering and Quality Departments as needed to resolve hardware and software issues to meet monthly delivery schedules.

  • Attend Project Status Meetings and provide Assembly and Test input.

  • Responsible for safety practices and procedures and implement corrective actions.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Director.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years in Manager/Supervisor capacity.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Computer literate - Oracle a big plus.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Capable of making managerial decisions based on inputs provided by subordinates, peers, and consistent with company’s goals and policies.

  • Experience with mechanical assemblies.

  • Position may require occasional light duty electrical assembly.

  • Utilization of testing equipment (pressure panels, gauges, hydraulic equipment)
