EJ has an immediate opening for an Electrician at our Water Products Facility in East Jordan, Michigan on our (1 st shift). Pay to be determined with experience level.

SUMMARY

Safely optimize and/or repair equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.

  • Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.

  • Responsible for maintaining all electrical equipment in our facility.

  • Optimize and/or repair equipment.

  • Good troubleshooting skills with VFDs, PLC’s and other electronic components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems with applicable computer knowledge to support this type of work.

  • Ability to plan work, request proper parts, follow-up on work orders, see a job through to completion, etc.

  • Support and assist maintenance employees with PMs on equipment as needed.

  • Understand installation, servicing, and repairs of a 3-phase electrical system.

  • Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.

  • Display good organizational skills, able to organize work projects and help direct project repairs.

  • A good working knowledge of the NEC.

  • Works safely and promotes a safe workplace.

  • May drive industrial equipment to move materials.

  • Provides suggestions for the improvement of all our systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical circuits.

  • Reads and understands electrical diagrams/prints.

  • Ability to weld and use a cutting torch preferred.

  • Must meet physical demands listed below.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • CNC systems experience is preferred.

  • Experience with motor starters, variable frequency drives and soft start motor drives.

  • Experience with a Medium Voltage Switchgear preferred.

  • Electrical Journeyman license required

This position requires the ability to successfully pass the respirator testing protocol and wear a respirator as needed.
