CITE and MATC Program Coordinator

Position Summary

Representing the Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education, this position will be responsible for support of all the graduate programs in a very large, complex, and highly-collaborative unit; specific duties include, but are not limited to the following: process graduate admissions for the Department; provide information to the Department faculty, staff, and/or students regarding program requirements; compile and monitor graduate admission materials and academic progress information for Department review; assist with compiling graduate assistantship information; prepare, distribute and track graduate assistantship offer letters; initiate and track hiring forms for graduate assistantship appointments; initiate and track the distribution of fellowships and recruitment awards along with reconciling the corresponding accounts; produce reports in relation to admissions, financial aid/fellowship awards, and student academic progress; initiate and assist with doctoral applicant recruitment visits, new doctoral student orientations, comprehensive exams, updating of program web sites, creation of groups via platforms (e.g., D2L, Office365), and fellowship competition opportunities; serves as lead worker and may hire, train, and evaluate student employee(s); other duties as assigned to carry out the mission of the Department of Teacher Education, the College of Education, and Michigan State University.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate's degree in business, education, higher education, psychology, business or a related field which corresponds to the area of employment; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in university/college/academic admissions or related administrative position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; experience with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with database and word processing merges; experience with MSU Student Information System (SIS), Graduate Admissions Management System (SLATE), Enterprise Business Systems (EBS), Research Training Tracking System (RTTS), GradInfo, GradPlan, DegreeAudit, eGradFel, Qualtrics, Qualtrics 360, D2L, FTU Routing, Electronic Student Academic Folder (ESAF), and Office of the Registrar Online Forms; previous experience working in an academic unit at a Higher Education Institution; experience with TEAMS and Sharepoint; knowledge of University policies and procedures; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrates a work orientation that includes problem solving, taking initiative, working as part of a team, and learning for continuous self-improvement.
