Clinical Director-RN/LPN. This position is responsible for direct the 24-hour operation of the RC Clinical Services. Ensure that the highest degree of quality care and service is maintained and that regulatory guidelines are met or exceeded. Work with the Director of Resident Center to oversee risk management in the Resident Center and ensure smooth coordination of services. Provide leadership and communication consistent with the philosophies of the Burcham Culture and adherence to Home for the Aged Rules and other regulations as well as policies and procedures of Burcham Hills, in addition to the following duties:

Management/Supervision

  • Responsible for the supervision of the Care Coordinators/Licensed Nursing staff and Clinical Care Support staff.
  • Determine staffing needs; interview, select, hire, and oversee onboarding of assigned staff.
  • Assign and direct work of subordinates; recognize, reward and discipline staff, address concerns and resolve problems.
  • Assure adequate clinical skills training and monitoring of team for service, compliance and delivery of safe, effective and appropriate care.
  • Supervise the maintenance of clinical records, e-MAR's and e-TAR's and audit documentation for accuracy.
  • Review incident reports, follow up and ensure implementation of appropriate interventions. Prepare HFA reports as necessary.

Quality Care, Compliance and Clinical Services

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide a safe, welcoming and caring environment.
  • Perform clinical set ups, including input of medications into e-MAR, medication orders, and ancillary services including dietary, therapy, home care and hospice.
  • Perform routine assessment/observation of residents' physical and psycho-social needs and coordinate with other departments to ensure high quality, proactive care.
  • Communicate with physicians regarding residents' clinical status, needs and condition changes.
  • Direct clinical service delivery to residents by therapy, home health agencies and hospice teams.
  • Participate in resident / family care conferences as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Care Managers regarding resident and family concerns, quality issues, audits and management of risk and care issues.
  • Establish and implement quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives for improved clinical care according to company policies and as required.
