POSITION SUMMARY

Administers human resource functions necessary to assist with the overall administration of the unit in support of assigned processes or functional area(s). Works independently to make day to day decisions with minimal oversight from supervisor/management.

MSU Extension (MSUE) is a large and complex unit with more than 700 employees in 83 counties spread across the upper and lower peninsula of Michigan. The position of the Human Resources Professional responsible for oversight and management of academic recruiting and hiring develops, implements, and enforces policies and/or practices as well as resolves complex and unique human resources matters in areas of responsibility while contributing to the success of our intricate organization.

In this position you will support academic recruiting efforts and will act as a liaison between MSU Extension and the central HR team at MSU. You will join a dynamic, talented, and high performing MSU Extension HR team that is campus-based in East Lansing to provide additional capacity and partnership to the four institutes and director's office, while interacting with staff and administrators across the state.

This position may be eligible to utilize a flexible work environment, however, there is an expectation to work from a MSU Extension campus office. The needs, responsibilities, and opportunities of an individual's position and office location drive the ability and amount of work-location flexibility.

Responsible for administering or coordinating HR processes to support areas such as recruitment and selection, orientation and onboarding, performance management and development, and/or employee retention and succession planning.
