Bear Mountain Health Care Business Office Manager for LTC Center 2 plus years Experience a must to be considered in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts

  1. Responsible for maintaining accurate data entry in all system applications.

  2. Attends A-team meetings, approves financial screening of all new admits, enters census data, meets with residents and families to discuss financial obligations and patient liability, maintains financial files.

  3. Balances daily census including room and payer changes, leaves of absence and bed holds, notifies ancillary vendors of daily census changes.

  4. Disputes monthly vendor bills for errors, reviews, disputes or processes, assigns GL codes for consolidated bills for payment after retrieving payment requirements from FISS-CWF.

  5. Posts cash receipts, returned checks, refunds, payments and all misc. batches.

  6. RFMS daily transactions, balances petty cash, mail statements monthly, reconciles accounts monthly, resolves reconciling items timely, posts interest.

  7. Pursues and documents collections on all past due accounts, tracks collections, and refers cases for legal action where necessary and continues to track progress of those cases for collection. Prepares write-off as needed, with appropriate backup.

  8. Bills co-insurance claims that did not crossover to secondary payer within 24 hours of Medicare payment.

  9. Identifies accounts that require adjustments, prepares adjustment form when necessary, attaches supporting documentation and makes changes in computer system as needed.

  10. Completes month end close process per corporate procedure/checklist, meets all deadlines.

  11. Maintains W9 tracking log and submits to corporate monthly.

  12. Manages Medicaid pending process using corporate procedures and forms. Contacts DSS workers regularly and takes appropriate action where necessary.

  13. Coordinates with auditors, assists in resolving GL variances, preps and attends AR review meetings weekly.

  14. Interacts with staff, residents, and families effectively and appropriately, delegates to other office personnel as necessary.

    education requirements

    Minimum 3 years in a long-term care business office. Good communication skills. Prior supervisory experience. High school diploma .
