Position Summary
The Employee Relations Coordinator, who reports to the Director of Employee Relations, will support the Employee Relations department with the Performance Management process for all classified and unclassified employees. As a healthcare facility governed by the Joint Commission, competency-based evaluations are required for all hospital employees are due on an annual basis. This position will collaborate with hospital leadership to ensure continuous compliance with the requirements set forth by the Joint Commission and SBUH policy on performance programs and evaluations. The Employee Relations Coordinator will be responsible for the collection, organization, modifications, and processing of performance programs and evaluations for all hospital employees.
Duties of the Employee Relations Coordinator may include but are not limited to:
- Actively communicate and work with hospital leadership to ensure all components of the program and evaluation are complete and accurate
- Serve as point of contact for the collection and receipt of all performance programs and evaluations
- Effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information.
- Maintain the Performance Management mailbox
- Utilize monthly reports to reconcile and follow up on outstanding programs and evaluations
- Generate and process reappointment correspondence for unclassified employees
- Process transactions in PeopleSoft and send correspondence
- Track, monitor, and send out correspondence for future non-renewal dates of UUP represented employees
- Prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently
- Be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
- Exercise independent judgment in the resolution of data correction
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 2 years of administrative experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work with confidential data
- Ability to work in a fast complex environment
- Ability to multitask
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field
- 6 or more month of experience reviewing and tracking ER data and documents
- Experience working for a government unionized employer
- 1 or more years of Human Resources experience
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, Kronos, NYSTEP, and/or an Electronic Document Management system

- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*

- Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
- Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $xxx - $xxx / year.
The above salary range represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's validated years of comparable experience. - Location pay for UUP, CSEA & PEF full-time positions ($3400)
- Night shift differential ($000), evening shift differential ($000)
