Job Title: Overnight Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The maintenance mechanic is responsible for completing assigned maintenance duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. This includes performing onsite maintenance for production equipment by completing breakdown and preventative maintenance on all filling, packaging, processing, and palletizing equipment. The maintenance mechanic will diagnose, repair, and replace industrial equipment in a fast-paced production environment, supporting the manufacture of dairy-related products.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities, including disassembling and reassembling machinery, overhauling gearboxes, and replacing bearings/bushings/etc.

  • Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of parts, machines, or equipment.

  • Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies.

  • Test the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test instruments such as multi-meters, volt, and amp meters.

  • Install electronic parts and hardware using soldering equipment and hand-tools.

  • Maintain Maintenance Inventory System to ensure accurate inventories.

  • Communicate effectively between shifts and other departments, including the status of equipment to supervisors/co-workers at the end of shifts and log book documentation.

  • Comply with GMP's, SOP's, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.

  • Report food safety problems and initiate action; support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of GED or High School Diploma is required.

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience within a mechanical automation field.

  • Technical trade, military training, or technical college strongly preferred.

  • Experience with VFD's, stretch or blow molding, conveyors, pumps, pneumatic sanitary valves, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Hours

The standard hours are 6:00PM-6:30AM. The full 2025 schedule is already planned and will be provided upon an official offer.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
