Job Description:
The Design/Engineering Technician is responsible for preparing engineering and construction plan documents for a variety of projects. These include natural gas utility, transmission, and station facilities. Associated design and drafting for these projects will be performed utilizing primarily AutoCAD software products and can be in 2D or 3D depending on project requirements. This is a fast paced, dynamic position that will require working both independently and as a member of a team of professionals moving projects from concept through construction phases.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Base Map Drafting
Draft Service lines and labels based on Service Cards, SPIPE Sheets
Layout Sheets - Provide Correct notes, Plans, Scope, Overall Sheets based on records like GIS Sketch/Scope Document
Tie-Ins - Draft Correct fittings based on tie-ins design from Engineers
Incorporation of corrections, comments, modifications of the Base map given by Engr/POC
Provide correct scope of work (copy from GIS Sketch), Permitting & Environment Requirements, Corrosion Design
Details Sheets - Design tie-ins (we design these), correct numbering that corresponds to the BOM, Standard details should corresponds to the tie-ins details
Job Requirements:
AAS degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 6 years related experience in natural gas design and drafting.
Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Self-starter, highly motivated, team player with strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to interact with colleagues, senior engineers, project managers and construction personnel
Required to have an experience with:
AutoCAD Map 3D
Bluebeam experience is a plus
Natural gas, piping or similar mechanical engineering background
Must have strong English speaking / communication skills preferred.
Background in US Clients is a plus.
Background in Geodetic Engineering/ GIS Analyst is a plus.
