Aston Carter Business Development Executive in Eau Claire, Wisconsin



  1. Develop new business leads into closed revenue through partnering with Account Executives.

  2. Meet with new prospective agency clients, follow-up on and work with existing prospective clients; manage the sales process.

  3. Identify prospects with the potential to close within the next year and establish a specific communication and contact strategy.

  4. Support the retention efforts for existing books of business.


Objective (80%) – New Business Revenue


. Identify and develop insurance prospects; network with Centers of Influence.

. Develop, follow and complete a business plan.

. Respond to referrals quickly and effectively.

. Create and maintain prospect lists.

. Originate and close new clients to meet revenue goals.

. Identify and actively pursue prospective client meetings.

. Leverage Salesforce for managing pipeline and the sales process.

. Work with Sales team on next steps for each prospect visit to include closing the file, working on the account over the long-term or getting an AE involved immediately.

. Work with AE’s and other members of our team to onboard and deep sell new clients.

. Actively pursue and work key target prospects.

. Follow-up with prospects on educational seminars, market alerts, workshops, etc.

. Meet with prospects at least once per year.

. Work with Sales Leadership to identify the best AE fit for specific leads.

. Work with the AE through the sales process to ultimately win the business.

. Continue to meet with key decision makers in your book of business and work to cross sell accounts.

Objective (15%) – Retention Support


. Entertain clients and build long lasting relationships with book of business.

. Attend various meetings including pre-planning meetings, renewal meetings, annual risk management sessions, etc.


. Client Retention meets agency goals.

Objective (5%) – Personal Development


. Stay current with new risk management ideas and strategies.

. Understand carrier products and sales goals.



. Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of five years related insurance/sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.


. Wisconsin Insurance license is desired

. Insurance designation is desired


. Working knowledge of insurance and sales industry terminology.

. Ability to make presentations to high level executives.

. Previous relevant professional experience is desired.

. Excellent interpersonal skills.

. Excellent analytical ability.

. Excellent delegation skills.

. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: 60,000-100,000 + commission (based on experience)
