Position Description As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing innovative medical devices. You'll be a key contributor/leader on cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure our products meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role is expected to provide technical and functional leadership/supervision as required as the organization grows. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Functional leadership of the electrical engineering team, including talent development, coaching, mentoring, and career development. Lead and provide strategic direction to a highly functional team of professionals responsible for the development of BMT medical device products through proactive communication, effective change management and strategy alignment. Recruit, hire, develop and manage electrical engineers in order to effectively work with others to accomplish business goals. Design, develop and implement electrical solutions to meet customer and design requirements Execute new product development projects according to solid project plans and management principles (scope, timeline, milestones and risk-based decision making) Implement designs into production, including developing functional test solutions Create required specifications and technical documents including requirements specifications, architecture and design documentation and test and verification plans and reports Design and prototype microcontroller and microprocessor-based products incorporating sensors, motor controls, communication and UX elements. Design to and qualify new designs to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, FCC, and CE Design and implement test fixtures to verify the circuit boards and/or systems functionality for production testing Understand user experiences to be able to make informed design decisions Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Minimum B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering 10+ years of electrical engineering experience Desire to lead and manage a team and a career path leading toward technical leadership Experience with hardware development through the full product life-cycle Ability to specify and evaluate electrical components based on performance, lifespan, and availability Skilled in schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer, PADS or equivalent Proven project management skills Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong leadership abilities to influence and empower others Self-starter with strong initiative and personal accountability Preferred: 3+ years medical device experience Experience leading teams or working cross-functionally in an engineering environment Familiarity with embedded system and microprocessor design Understanding of EMI and UL requirements Experienced in the design of experiments, data analysis, statistical methods and presentation of results Job Location 7905 Fuller Road, Eden Prairie, Minnesota Tracking Code 1267-432 ACIST Medical is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
