Scope of Job
To assist the Director with the day-to-day operations of an assigned grant funded program or project, exercising independent judgment and authority as required. Responsible for assisting the Director in all phases of the assigned program or project.
Description of Duties
Assists in the supervision of the personnel and day-to-day activities of a program or project.
Coordinates the various activities of the program/project.
Assists with budget preparation, maintenance, and monitoring.
Develops and writes proposals for funding grants and assists others in proposal writing.
Develops long and short-term programs.
Represents program/project or department in official functions.
Attends meetings, conferences, and seminars related to the programs mission and goals.
Supervises and organizes seminars, conferences, and presentations.
Develops, cultivates, and maintains working relationships with internal/external departments/agencies and other organizations associated with and/or receiving benefit from the program.
Performs other duties as required.

General supervision from assigned supervisor.
Supervision Given
Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree in field related to program or project.
Licenses/Certifications
None.
Required Experience
Three (3) years experience in field related to program or project.
Applicant must be a current UTRGV Employee to be eligible for this position.
Preferred Experience
Applicant currently holds a comparable position at UTRGV .
Equipment
Use of standard office equipment.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required. Must be able to move between buildings, stoop, bend, lift and reach to set up for workshops, seminars, and presentations. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Must have ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and negotiate. Must possess excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
