Purpose of the role

Travel required across the UK - Hybrid Working

The purpose of the role is:

Responsible for driving analysis regarding on site hard services equipment to ensure the current and future availability, reliability and maintainability of key infrastructure and critical services. Identifying opportunity for service enhancement and improvements to process.

The Reliability Engineer will be a key role within the senior technical function of the team, focussing on lifecycle management of key infrastructure assets and innovation. To determine the reliability and suitability of equipment, processes and systems covered within the contract and as defined in the account asset register. The role holder will work with CBRE colleagues and the client to improve loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management. This will involve the identification and conduct of appropriate analysis, to better understand system awareness and develop solutions to benefit the client and identify cost saving opportunities. As well as identifying potential failures, the role holder will help facilitate root cause analysis and conduct investigations as directed by the account technical manager. Other key responsibilities will include:

  • To have the privilege of focus to own and implement a business and data led maintenance delivery.

  • Assisting with system modification and project proposals within the context of system analysis as appropriate.

  • Working with the account maintenance teams in applying general engineering knowledge to solve problems, form remediation plans and improve current and future maintenance activities. .

  • Performing tests and analysis in conjunction with the account operational teams.

  • Aid in verification of new system design and installations.

  • Supporting budget holders with forecasts and cost/carbon reduction programmes/initiatives.

  • Using the account CAFM system to drive maintenance best practice and service excellence.

  • Working with CBRE suppliers to ensure service delivery is completed to the highest standards.

  • Assess business as usual system performance using appropriate analysis including:

· Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)

· Reliability hazard analysis and Operational hazard analysis

· Working knowledge of lean methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.

· Dynamic reliability block-diagram analysis

· Fault tree analysis and Root cause analysis

· Avoidance of single point of failure (SPOF)

· Human error analysis

· Preventative/Planned Maintenance Optimization (PMO)

The role holder should have an ONC, BTEC or BEng degree (or similar) in an electrical/mechanical engineering discipline and relevant operational experience of building hard services delivery. Similarly, the role holder must be familiar with statistical analysis techniques and be able to translate into suitable written reports that demonstrate a strong level of communication skills.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a technical reliability role or similar.

  • Multi skilled engineering background, previous experience as an authorised person.

  • Working knowledge of SFG20.

  • Recognised Health and Safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of maintenance processes and tools used to analyse and manage asset reliability.

  • Ability to read, understand and sketch technical drawings (machine and process).

  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to break down and solve complex problems in a logical and structured approach.

  • Familiar with BMS system operation and interrogation.

  • Strong ability to communicate at all levels, both verbally and via written reports.

  • Ability to work to own initiative and as part of a team with minimal supervision.

  • Good working knowledge of computer systems and software packages (Word, Excel etc.)

  • Experience and knowledge of:

  • Vibration Analysis Category I

  • Ultrasound Category I

  • Asset Reliability Associate

  • A relevant leadership qualification (ILM 3) as the individual will be collaborating with different stakeholders throughout the business.

  • Knowledge and / or experience with ISO 550001 (Risk based Asset management).
