Position: R&D Manager
Segment: Laboratory Sciences
Location: Edison, NJ
Shift: 1st Shift – Monday – Friday
Principal duties and responsibilities include:
• Create innovative and fresh products to be introduced into the cosmetic market
• Formulate, research, test, color-match and troubleshoot
• Develop batches from scratch and implement improvements to existing batches
• Adhere to a cGMP environment, document and follow lab procedures with attention to detail
• Prepare all required paperwork
• Request, test and release new raw material samples
• Calibrate Lab Equipment as needed
• Monitor the quality of formulas via evaluation of stability samples under multiple temperature conditions
• Partner with Marketing to write the Product Development Brief, evaluate benchmark and desired performance claims
• Partner with marketing on ideation and potential opportunities
• Partner with regulatory to ensure formula compliancy
Must Haves:
• 5+ years' experience in cosmetic formulation or similar lab
• Ability to formulate
• Ability to calibrate lab equipment
• Knowledge of rules and regulations (FDA, CTFA, PCPC) for cosmetics (recommended)
• Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong computer skills
• Attention to detail and project management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
