Job Description/Responsibilities\
The School of Nursing at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
{SIUE) is seeking candidates for two (2) full-time, tenure-track nursing
faculty positions. SIUE is classified by the Carnegie Commission on
Higher Education as a Doctoral/Professional University, and as such, our
institution is dedicated to exemplary student instruction. As a Tenure
track faculty in the School of Nursing, there is an expectation to
demonstrate competent teaching across the curriculum, including
didactic, clinical, and online setting and in our graduate and/or
undergraduate programs. Additionally, tenure track faculty are expected
to maintain a program of scholarship relevant to the practice of
nursing, the nursing profession, and/or the education of nurses and to
engage in service to the School of Nursing and other constituencies
relevant to the mission of the organization.\
\
The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) School of Nursing
educates, empowers, and engages learners to achieve excellence in
nursing. Our commitment to inclusive excellence in nursing education,
practice, service, and scholarship is reflected in our innovative
programs, extensive partnerships, and equitable opportunities. We
empower learners by fostering a supportive community that celebrates
student success with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Our graduates are prepared to lead change and advance health equity of
diverse populations.\
\
In support of our mission, we take full advantage of our central
location between rural Illinois and Metropolitan Saint Louis and offer a
diverse range of clinical learning opportunities for students. A
significant point of pride for our school is the SIUE We Care Clinic,
located on the East Saint Louis campus just 25 miles from SIU E\'s main
campus. The clinic offers a full range of services to patients in a
historically underserved area. The clinic exemplifies our mission and
its commitment to health equity, diversity and community engagement.
Other points of pride are the innovative teaching strategies that have
received local, state, and national scholar recognition through grants
and awards. Since 2012, the School of Nursing faculty has been involved
in research and program grant funding over 30 million dollars. Funding
support for faculty research has included prestigious sources such as
the U.S. Department of Health, Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration, National Institutes of Health, Illinois Board
of Higher Education, Illinois Department of Public Health, the
Archdiocese of St. Louis, and the American Association of Nurse
Anesthetists.\
\
The SIUE School of Nursing offers an energetic, forward-thinking,
supportive environment for faculty to grow and practice to the full
extent of their educational and licensing credentials. We look forward
to welcoming new faculty who are driven, dedicated, and prepared to work
collaboratively to provide high-level and diverse learning experiences
for our students and community.\
