Philips Production Test Development Engineer in Eindhoven, Netherlands

Job title:

In this role, you will contribute to people’s health and wellbeing by enabling our customers to realize a successful market introduction of their innovative new products.

In a multi-disciplinary team effort and building on our broad and deep technological knowledge and experience, our main goal is to develop, realize, and operate robust industrial assembly processes. Our unique proposition is that we offer our services and state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities throughout the whole innovation development cycle: technology development, concept investigations, engineering samples for verification or validation purposes, and volume manufacturing.

We do this in close collaboration with our customer’s product development teams, as we believe that a product and its manufacturing process are inseparable and need to be developed simultaneously. This helps us to live up to our commitment to our customers: “We make your innovation work”.

Our international customers range from small start-ups to well established industry leaders in the medical and other high-tech industries. The products we work on are typically volume produced smart micro devices (or components therefore), often requiring a challenging combination of micro-assembly technologies from the electronics, chip packaging and photonics industries. Typical examples are in- and on-body diagnostic medical devices, MEMS based sensors, and high-end PCBAs for analytical systems.

In our team we are looking for a Production Test Development Engineer, who, based on the product and manufacturing requirements develops and implements a test strategy ensuring the right risk coverage.

Your role:

  • Developing, executing, and documenting cost effective and sustainable manufacturing test protocols/procedures by using established test design methods, techniques and tools.

  • Reviewing product requirements, designs, and product changes from a test point of view, liaises with stakeholders resulting in a testable and maintainable system and converts requirements into test designs.

  • Contributing to the departments long term test strategy roadmap, including test equipment roadmap.

  • Documenting test plans, protocols, and reports according the applicable regulations

  • Negotiating the proposed strategy with internal and external stakeholders

You're the right fit if:

  • You have a bachelor or master’s degree in a relevant domain (e.g. electronics, mechatronics)

  • Understanding of PCB assembly and volume production.

  • Experienced in developing test programs and strategies for electronic circuits especially with In-Circuit-, Boundary Scan-, and Functional Testing.

  • Experience with PCBA reliability simulation software (e.g. Pred-X or Testway) is a pre.

  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certified or willing to learn.

  • Hands-on approach and strong problem-solving capabilities

  • Proficient in Business English, Dutch preferred.
