Summary of Position Nexon America Information Security team is expanding security support to multiple offices, and we are looking for candidates to join our Information Security (i.e., InfoSec) Team. InfoSec team's mission is to help Nexon America, and U.S. offices prevent, monitor, remediate, communicate, and especially learn from security incidents. We're looking for people with experience in security monitoring, incident handling, maintaining system, threat hunting, threat intelligence, or digital forensics. We are currently working in the office 2-3x a week in a hybrid work model. Job Responsibilities * Detect and respond to company-wide security incidents * Log analysis and Security forensics * Develop and implement preventative security measures (detection, monitoring, exploitation) * Communicate risks and mitigations across multiple audiences with varying levels of sensitivity * Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills * Self-motivated and possesses good written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills * Other duties as assigned Work Experience * 2+ years of demonstrated experience and/or education in Computer Infrastructure, endpoint, server or cloud security engineering, log aggregation, and/or penetration testing * In-depth knowledge of Linux/Windows tools/architecture and logging systems * Experience with one or more programming languages (Python is preferred) * Proficiency to communicate over a text-based medium (Slack, Email) and can succinctly document technical details Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience Knowledge/Skills * Technical Skills * Security knowledge * Understanding of fundamental security concepts * Ability to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities using security tools * Basic understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms * Ability to assist in identifying and mitigating security incidents * Understanding security frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS benchmarks * Knowledge of OS security (Windows, Linux) and basic hardening techniques * Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and basic network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.) * Some experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and log analysis * Ability to assess security risks and analyze incidents * Soft Skills * Strong communication skills for documenting findings, writing clear and concise reports, and effectively communicating complex security concepts * Ability to quickly pick up new security technologies and stay updated with threats * Preferred * Online gaming industry experience * Experience/knowledge with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and/or Azure * Development experience especially in security-related system Management has the right to add or change duties and job requirements at any time. Compensation Description for Pay Transparency (hourly) The base salary range for this position in El Segundo, CA is $36.00 - $45.00 hourly. Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position. An individual's pay is determined by factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's qualifications, skills, experiences, relevant education or training, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, however the salary range listed in this job posting reflects the base salary only.
