Description:
We are looking for a candidate that has specific DESIGN engineering experience related to substation and/ or transmission projects. The ideal candidate would have history with both, but our client is expecting us to find someone that has one or the other. Our client is very busy with incoming work from both BGE & Pepco and has an existing backlog of production level work. This role would be supporting the substation and transmission team to knock out the backlogged work. This engineer/designer would then help to support new work coming in, either running projects start to finish or assisting based on their capabilities.
An Average day would look like:
Attend client and internal project meetings to understand engineering deliverables required.
Design/ engineer blueprint drawings to match scope of work
estimate cost of materials
perform site walkdowns when needed
collaborate with other engineers, pm's designers and drafters to delegate responsibilities
work within schedule deadlines, often supporting multiple projects at once.
submit completed design with calculations to internal QA/review team
Make corrections as needed before submitting final project.
