Plant Team Leader Description
Job Summary:
The Plant Team Leader performs a variety of essential functions under the supervision of the Operations & Assistant Operations Managers. The Plant Team Leader will lead and mentor Plant Team Members as well as work with the Operations & Assistant Operations Managers to ensure efficient operations in the plant
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct reports
Point of contact for Plant Team Members
Assists in oversight of daily workflow
Trains new Team Members
Acts as de facto plant supervisor in the absence of the Operations or Assistant Operations Manager(s)
Duties/Responsibilities:
[]{#_GoBack}Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
SafetyChain tasks (HACCP receiving, and scheduled tasks)
Product receiving, arrangement, and storage
Loading and unloading the product resupply truck, as well as other trucks
Cooler/Cutting Room preparation
Accurately pulling and assembling product loads
Fish Cutting and/or Skinning
Maintaining accurate inventories of fresh products
Assist in maintaining adequate stock of plant supplies
Environmental monitoring
Quality process and sanitation procedure documentation and audit, maintains accurate records
Works with other team members to identify ways to improve department effectiveness, and works with the Operations and/or Assistant Operations Manager(s) to implement viable ideas
Informs Assistant Operations Manager of personnel, or other problems
Informs the Operations and/or Assistant Operations Manager(s) and/or the Fleet and Facilities Manager of problems with the facility, equipment, etc.
Follows grounds and building maintenance procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skill/Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong understanding of basic math
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work with a team and motivate other team members to accomplish objectives
Thorough understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used in the plant
Thorough understanding of plant/facility procedures and regulations
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must possess a valid drivers license
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a cool, wet environment
Ability to work in a cold environment
Ability to lift at least 60 pounds repeatedly
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
Ability to safely use knives and/or other production equipment
Ability to work in a variety of roles
