Perform all duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/Manager/Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identifies deficiencies and deviations from maintenance schedules and standards and performs regular Preventive Maintenance on various HVAC equipment.
- Performs general repairs/maintenance.
- Assists other HVAC tradesmen as directed.
- May operate light or heavy equipment, and maintains equipment and tools.
- Assists with snow removal as needed.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Overtime may be required.
Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write and follow directions. Basic computer skills.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical, Low Voltage electrical, heating/cooling and general repairs.
- Must be familiar with and adhere to all the safety rules and regulations for the University Safety Policy which apply to the work environment.
- Know how to Lockout/Tagout equipment.
- Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items up and down stairs.
- Must be able to spend a significant amount of time outside in all weather conditions.
- Be able to work off ladders and on roofs.
- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
