Job Duties and Responsibilities

DISH Wireless Accounting is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant II for a fast-paced, technical business environment. The position involves asset accounting and reporting, journal entries and reconciliations, and the development of insightful, robust analysis to facilitate management decision-making and to comply with external reporting requirements. Successful candidates will be able to build relationships and provide accounting guidance, recommendations, support, and oversight to colleagues across technology, finance, and systems development teams.

Our purpose is to safeguard company assets and produce timely, accurate, actionable financial information – while participating in the design and implementation of new systems, creating efficiencies, and developing strategies for executing across the Wireless buildout business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare entries to accounts (GL and Subledger) documenting business transactions

  • Prepare reconciliations and analysis of fixed assets and related accounts

  • Month-end processing responsibilities

  • Develop solutions to capture financial data for unique business transactions

  • Analyze, validate, and determine the appropriate treatment and reporting for multi-year agreements with vendors

  • Track future spending commitments by evaluating contracts, agreements, and Purchase Orders

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis on Wireless buildout capital expenditures, and other initiatives as assigned

  • Maintenance of financial controls, policies, and procedures

  • Development, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes

  • Act as a steward of financial accuracy and data integrity

  • Prepare financial results and reports (monthly and quarterly) for leadership and for public reporting requirements

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s degree a plus (Finance and related fields may be considered)

  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced accounting environment, preferably in a technology business

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A working knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, procedures, and standards (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, GAAP, SOX, and SEC Reporting)

  • Demonstrated aptitude for critical thinking in complex situations and ability to synthesize data into concise analysis

  • Intellectual curiosity, outstanding problem solving and strong analytical skills with the ability to seek, organize, analyze, and draw valid conclusions

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, work independently and meet deadlines

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and proficiency with financial tools (e.g., Oracle, OneStream)

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written presentation skills, and an ability to summarize complex concepts into understandable, easy-to-follow, effective communications

  • CPA, or equivalent qualification a plus

This role will be onsite in Englewood, CO

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
