Job Description:
As a Test Engineer at SNC, you will be using your skills and expertise to
simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services.
These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic
systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration
systems.
This position is situated within a dynamic team-focused environment,
emphasizing the planning and execution of comprehensive testing for both
mission systems and air vehicles.
Our approach evolves with the design maturity, extending from initial stages
through to post-production follow-ups on subsequent articles.
The role involves extensive system testing, aimed at assessing a broad
spectrum of mission equipment such as communication, computing,
navigation, and surveillance systems, to ensure they meet design and
functionality standards.
Additionally, air vehicle testing tasks will include the assessment of
aircraft systems disturbed during air vehicle modification and
return-to-service efforts, and a thorough evaluation of various flight and
control capabilities across prototype air vehicles.
Must-haves:
Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices Familiarity
working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Knowledge of requirements management, system design, and systems integration
Exposure to planning, conducting and documenting Verification and Validation
(V&V) activities
Preferred:
Experience with various testing equipment, standards, and methodologies to
include manual and automated testing Ability to prepare complex and
professional test plans, test procedures, and test reports in order to
demonstrate compliance to system requirements.
Familiarity with Product and Quality Assurance principles and experienced in
generation and disposition of product non-conformances.
Experience performing certification testing for various certification
organizations (i.e. FAA, NASA, DoD) Ability to read schematics, use
service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical trouble shooting
techniques Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
Role & Responsibilities:
Participate in internal and external meetings and briefs.
Generate presentation material and conduct presentations for internal and
external program briefs
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and program stakeholders to
develop test strategy for new programs.
Draft and develop test plans and test procedures of various complexities,
with specific test criteria
Execute local and off-site testing in accordance with approved test plans and
test procedures to evaluate or demonstrate functionality of components,
sub-systems, mission systems and aircraft systems.
Troubleshoot test anomalies discovered during test.
Draft and develop test reports summarizing all test findings following
conclusion of test.
Education:
Must-haves: Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or other related
discipline and typically 2 or more years of experience.
