We administer rental assistance programs and offer a variety of housing-related programs and services promoting home ownership, educating renters and landlords, improving existing housing stock, and developing and managing affordable housing. HOUSING INSPECTOR: Seeking professional individual with strong communication and customer service skills to evaluate rental housing according to federal standards and advise owners on correcting deficiencies. Prefer an individual with basic construction or property inspection exp. Bachelors degree, or associates degree in a related field with two years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have clean and valid drivers license, reliable transportation and adequate auto insurance. Majority of time is spent on the road throughout Erie County. Mileage reimbursement and excellent benefits.
Ensures that housing assisted through the Section 8 Programs is decent, safe and sanitary, and in compliance with federal housing quality standards.
EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree, or associate's degree in a related field with two years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS: Ability to work independently and manage time and organize workflow. Interpersonal, listening, organizational and computing skills. Must be sensitive to peoples difficulties and capable of responding to clients in a non-judgmental manner.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
