Liberty Latin America Transmission & IP Engineering in Escazú, Costa Rica

What´s the Role?

Design, document, and implement connectivity solutions to meet business service provider requirements whilst maintaining Liberty Costa Rica's security posture and standards. Segmented WAN using multiple VRFs with MPLS for (L3VPN and L2VPN technologies) and firewalling to control inter-VRF traffic flow for B2C and B2B customers. Global WAN including the use of MPLS, IPSec, and SD-WAN. Experience with transport MPLS/IP connectivity and cloud integration into an enterprise and service provider network.

How you will add value?

  • Conduct lab testing and complete a detailed transition of implementation, including all details of changes, risks, and rollback plan for integration activity.

  • Design, stage, configure, implement, and support specific WAN installations and network changes.

  • Work as part of a wider team on the integration or divestiture of other companies into Liberty Latin America.

  • Provide our operations group with escalation support when required.

  • As required, work to evaluate specific engineering requirements and design, test, and document an optimal solution.

  • Participate in data center-related projects that require networking input/solutions.

  • Participate in major incidents to aid resolution.

What do you need?

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Information Systems, or a related field. Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or higher. Fluent in English.

Experience

  • Very strong background in designing and implementing Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and other technology WAN and switching solutions in an Enterprise and Service Provider environment.

  • Experience with large-scale network deployments, including the use of multi-VRF. Experience architecting and designing routing and firewall solutions.

  • Solid understanding of the different elements of an enterprise network and the interdependence between them.

  • Experience working with business personnel to identify business challenges and providing solutions to those challenges.

  • Experience with designing and implementing VRF-based segmentation.

  • Should have a strong understanding of processes; candidates should be able to follow processes or improve or create new processes where they do not exist or may be beneficial.

  • Deep knowledge of networking and security in a data center environment, particularly with Cisco, Fortinet, and F5.

  • Experience with SDN Architectures, ideally Big Switch (now Arista) Big Cloud Foundation (BCF) or Cisco ACI.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills are required.

A minimum of seven (5) years’ networking experience to include the following:

  • Cisco networking hardware configuration including core/distribution layer infrastructure.

  • Switching experience, including data center. Firewalling, ideally Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.

  • Switching and routing.

  • Extensive experience with BGP/MPLS in a Service Provider environment.

  • Detailed TCP/IP knowledge. Experience designing and implementing highly resilient networks.

  • Segmentation solutions using Cisco and Huawei hardware. Excellent written and verbal English language skills. Data center networking experience.
