Manpower Engineering is partnering with a global producer and supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, satellite, and space exploration industries that is currently hiring for a Mold Design Engineer to join their highly talented team in the Fairfield, CA area.
Job Title: Mold Design Engineer
Location: Fairfield, CA
Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000
What’s the Job?
Develops designs, details, and assemblies for compression molds and related tooling
Creates 3D models and specifications for mold construction
Supports concurrent engineering activities with Program Management/Business Development and Customer
Performs tolerance analysis and dimensional checks of designs
Administers and supports Digital Design Management and Model Based Definition, including customer engineering data and internally generated data
Interacts with the sales team and customers to ensure moldability
What’s Needed?
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Design, or equivalent required
Minimum two years of professional mold design experience preferred
3D parametric solid modeling CAD experience is a must
Fluent knowledge of PTC Creo, CATIA, or Solidworks.
Working knowledge of thermosets and how they are used in molding; thermoplastic experience helpful
Experience or interest in the development and design of compression molds for advanced composite materials
