federally qualified community health center. HealthFirst Family Care
Center, Inc. ?The Heart of Our Community? provides comprehensive
services including adult/pediatric medical care, health education,
health assessment and screenings, gynecology, cardiology, behavioral
health, substance use treatment, and adult/pediatric dental care. We are
currently seeking a motivated, Part Time (20 hours per week) Registered
Dietician that enjoys working with culturally diverse children and
families in providing comprehensive patient care. Registered Dietician
Summary Under the general direction of the Clinical Director, the
Registered Dietician provides nutritional services to the Greater Fall
River community, including diabetics, cardiac, renal, obese, and eating
disorder patients. This position supports the Health Center?s medical
and pediatric departments; collects patient assessment data, including
height, weight, and BMI; educates patients and patient?s families as
necessary about their self-management needs and treatment plan,
including risks and benefits; and designs and carry out individualized
and group treatment programs within scope of practice: medical nutrition
therapy. Schedule Mon/Wed 9:00 am ? 4:00 pm Fri 9:00 am ? 3:00 pm
Required Qualifications 1. Bachelor?s Degree and/or Master?s Degree in
Nutrition or Food Science. 2. Completion of Dietetic internship approved
by the American Dietetic Association. Must be a Registered Dietician in
the State of Massachusetts with a minimum of two years community
nutrition experience. 3. Bilingual skills preferred. 4. Must submit a
CORI Release Form and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying
information. 5. Ability to handle confidential information in a
professional manner and in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. 6. Strong
computer knowledge required. 7. Must possess excellent written and oral
communication skills. 8. Basic knowledge and understanding of how
nutrition plays a role in disease prevention and management. 9.
Knowledge of current nutrition trends, utilizing this knowledge to sort
through nutrition fads and fallacies when counseling patients. 10.
Knowledge of the role of nutrition across the life span. Competencies 1.
High level of customer service and a positive approach to work with
patients. Projects positive attitude about the department and the health
center, and offers services to ensure positive experience. 2. Ability to
maintain an organized work area and work collaboratively as a member of
a team. 3. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
and time management skills to effectively communicate with patients. 4.
Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner. 5.
Works well under pressure to manage stressful situations. 6. Uses sound
judgment and confidence. 7. Ability to multi- task. 8. Detail-oriented
