Spherion Fargo has a direct hire opportunity for an experienced Buyer. This role requires 3-5 years of purchasing and manufacturing experience. The Buyer is responsible for completing purchasing activities to ensure high-quality purchases are obtained at prices which maximize value in a timely manner for a $30m annual spend. Buying activities and responsibilities may include maintenance and repair parts, operating supplies, equipment and supplies, outside services, commodities, company vehicles, and contractual purchases. This role works closely with Production Planning, Sales and Operations to ensure supply chain viability.

Responsibilities:
-Purchase materials and supplies, equipment and outside services to be delivered on schedule in accordance with existing purchasing policies and guidelines, thus
contributing to efficient factory operations
-Proactively search out new and improved products which could improve production efficiencies or quality of finished product
-Provide for the purchase and timely delivery of assigned operating supplies in an economic manner
-Implement and administer the purchasing and construction contracts for the Company's expansion and improvement programs in an economical and timely manner
-Monitor and follow up on all purchase orders issued to ensure compliance with quantity, specification, quality, lead time accuracy, delivery and pricing, insurance andcontractual requirements
-Minimize downtime costs in the factories by ensuring that sufficient parts are available and accessible through coordination and standardization of inventory and effectivecommunication
-Serve as purchasing resource and advisor to management, the factory storerooms and Central Warehouse to ensure optimum value and compliance with purchasing policiesand procedures
-Contribute to management's decision-making process by serving as a resource regarding the cost and availability of equipment and supplies, including new products orservices
-Monitor and track material complaints through to a mutually beneficial resolution
Requirements:
-Bachelors degree in Purchasing, Business, or a related field
-3-5 years of purchasing and manufacturing experience
-General knowledge of purchasing, the bidding process and contract terms and conditions
-Analytical skills
-Computer skills - SAP
-Negotiation skills
-Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and vendors
